Last week was pretty rough as Dean and I got some kind of bug. Dean was able to keep working through it. I however was not that lucky and stayed home 1 1/2 days from work. Usually it's the other way around, but for some reason I got the headache, body ache and fatigue the worse. Our throat's are still soar, but other than that we are almost 100%.
We had to forgo our workouts last week. Monday the 26th was my first volleyball game, I was able to make that, make a cake for a co-worker that night and still do my yoga workout. Then the next day the bug hit. We are in phase 1 of our workout program. It is a 4 week phase, but we had to start all over again this week with the last week in phase 1. So this Sunday we get to do all our measurements and stuff for the end of phase one of p90x.
My brother and sister in law were in town for the week, Nick and Heather. So our illness put a damper on visiting time. Their daughter Paige's 2nd bday party was Friday night the 30th. The kids had a great time, helped opening presents and playing the Wii. Jadyn beat her Uncle Nick at Wii boxing :)
Saturday the 31st we made a date with our friends Travis and Mindy Ugland for Dean's birthday dinner. We took him to The Roundhouse in Lead, a new restaurant that serves a 5 course meal. The food was excellent and quite reasonable pricing. We watched a movie later with the Ugland's, we had a great night and it was a great surprise for him. Dean's birthday was actually Monday so I bought a DQ ice cream cake for him so the kids could sing Happy Birthday to him.
The kids pretty much spent this whole last week with my mom. She kept them overnight Sunday through Wed, we just had them from like 5-8 during those days. It's easy so we don't have to wake them up to go to work. Braden asked me on Tuesday, "Mom do we not live with you anymore." Some things that come out of that kids' mouth amaze me. They love going to Grandma's though. They've been home since Wed and have asked every night, "When are we going to Grandma's." I love the help, it's great. Especially when I was sick last week, my mom and aunt took the kids for awhile while I slept.
The kids saw their first basketball game last night. They liked it. Eme clapped when she needed too. Braden and Jadyn wanted to get up and play with the big kids. Jadyn was trying to explain to Braden who the bad guys were, it was quite entertaining. We went to watch our friend Tyler's game (I used to watch Tyler when he was about 3). He's been in our life for over 12 years and it's great to watch him grow and be involved in the things he does. We love him very much.
We are looking forward to next weekend, as we are going to our first hockey game in Rapid City on Valentine's Day. We are going with a group of about 20 other people. Should be fun and exciting. Gives Dean a break from planning anything, what am I saying, he never plans anything. Emery didn't teach him very well, get on that Jackie :)
Tyler Allen- freshman-OMG!!
Mom got a little sticker happy.
